The Department of Microbiology, Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Medical College & Hospitals (VMKVMCH), Salem, in collaboration with the Indian Society of Medical Mycologists (ISMM), organized a National Hands-on Workshop in Clinical Mycology on 13th & 14th October 2025.
The workshop aimed to strengthen diagnostic skills and clinical understanding of fungal infections among faculty and postgraduate clinical microbiologists. A total of 56 delegates from across the country actively participated in this two-day academic event.

Medical colleges and institutions across India are invited to highlight their initiatives undertaken during this week, including lectures, workshops, competitions, patient education programs, social media campaigns, and other innovative activities to promote awareness of fungal diseases.
Submissions will be reviewed, and selected activities will be featured on the ISMM website and in the society’s newsletter, offering national-level recognition. Institutions are requested to send a brief report (300–400 words) along with photographs of their activities by 25th September 2025 to ismmwebinarseries@gmail.com
